The College Board recently announced elimination of subject tests and essays. Subject tests are tough tests and more advanced than regular SAT. Regular SAT is for losers. SAT subject tests intend to separate the pure genius from the masses. Now they are gone. I guess now we have to do away with class rank, and then the GPA.

College board wants to “reduce and simplify demands to students”. Since when did pressuring kids to excel in academics and testing regiment became a demand to students. What other worthwhile thing exists for kids other than studies. Are we preparing students to…

I wish for many a things, and most of what I wish for eventually come to fruition. I wonder when I will stop wishing. I wonder why I keep craving, and continue to crave even after I have a whole lot of things that I craved. Here are some of the reasons I found:

  1. I coveted for it when I didn’t have it. Now that I have it, I don’t covet it anymore: I have many examples for this one. I wanted a red sports car — a 2 door convertible. I have it now. Then what? On occasional drives…

Over time, people feel that love fades. In the beginning of the courtship, couples feel a strong sense of love for each other. Over time, they see that the love fades. Is it true that love fades? Love is a feeling. Why do we feel it fades?

Feeling = Intensity x Emotion

f(Love) = X(intensity) times ‘emotion’

In the beginning, the x coefficient of intensity approaches infinity. Emotion is the constant, and here it is the emotion of love. Overtime, the x coefficient of intensity approaches zero and makes the love unnoticeable.

When we feel love, it has an element…

Today I am more happy than I normally am!

I got my consignment of See’s candy’s Butterscotch chocolates today. As I bit into the butterscotch chocolate, and looked at the mountain range that’s visible through my large glass paneled bedroom window, I had a ton of memories gushing in on who to thank for such a wonderful life I have.

I have to thank everyone that built a piece of my life

  • the one that gave me an opportunity to come to US (Jitesh Reddy)
  • Educating me (many to name here)
  • Sending me to a good college (Gayathri)
  • Helped me…

Food

The entire culture is so fasciated with food. Everyday we eat at least 24 different varieties: 4 for breakfast (Idli, Vada, Chutney, Sambar); 9 for lunch (Rice, Lentil, Sambar, Rasam, Yogurt, 2 vegetables, pickles, papad) and the same 9 for dinner. In between for snacks 1–2 varieties. Plus, coffee and tea for morning and evening.

Movies

Movies fascinate us. We have our favorite hero, heroine. Thats not even a word in Hollywood. We keep track of every release, and going to first day first show is such a memorable ritual.

Festival and Relatives

Every festival is looked forward to…

I am no different than any other living being. I define my own comfort, happiness and unhappiness.

I see many many rollie-pollies every day. some live under the sand bag Ihave put in my lawn. They define and live in their own comfort. Every day they get up and find their home cool and moist. Happy, until I decide to roll over the sand bag or use it up.

Our lives are exactly the same. …

36 Similarities between Michael Jackson and Indian God-men

Recently I watched ‘Leaving Neverland ‘— a documentary about Michael Jackson and his (not so appropriate) relationship with young boys. I find him use certain techniques that are also used by certain Indian God-men to have not so appropriate relationships with young boys.

What Michael / Indian God-men do?

  1. Give little cash to keep the boys happy.
  2. Push the boy away from their parents (so the boy can be close to Michael).
  3. He says “You are the first and only one to have such intimate relationship with him”.
  4. He makes you feel important.
  5. He tells some of his personal secrets…
